Calling designers to join this unique workshop: Make your own 3D printed ceramic object.
Using design software you will learn about the opportunities of additive manufacturing with clay. You will design your own object during the workshop and the objects will be printed and fired for your collection or delivery.
You will learn:
- How to design for clay 3D printing
- How 3D printers work
- Overview of design methods and software, including 3D modelling and algorithmic design
- Introduction to slicing software
- Clay body types
- Basic Firing and Glazing
- How to produce your own 3D ceramic range of objects
The event will have two options: online and in-person, please choose your ticket option accordingly.
You will need your own computer and proficiency with design software.
This workshop is brought to you by The Maker Space Foundation and runs as part of the Fak’ugesi Festival 2021 under the Maker Culture event stream, and the work is supported by the French embassy in South Africa.
