  • Knife-making workshop

Join us for our most popular workshop:  beginners knife making class on the 16 July 2020.

We will maintain social distancing during our workshop, everyone at the space will be expected to wear masks/ face shields at all times and there will be sanitizers at each station.

There are only 8 spots available, and this class sells out very quickly.

This is a 4 hour long class where you will learn some basic blacksmith skills as well as learning about composites in creating your own knife handle.

Go home with your very own hand made custom bush knife! Suitable for children over 13 only if accompanying an adult.

The knife blanks are laser cut from N690 a high performance Stainless Steel developed but Bohler Austria for knife making. The steel can be hardened to 60HRC. We can offer a choice between two handles either you can use recycled bottle caps that has just been launched as part of our Baobab project or you can choose a handle made from composite material combining fast curing hard polyurethane resin with fibres and fillers of your choice. You can also choose to add colour tints to the resin to give you knife a one of a kind handle. Bring something special to add to your knife handle, we have had people add a piece of wedding vail, coffee grinds, wood shavings, brass filings, amongst other things
